Billing
Subscriptions and renewals
How recurring service billing and domain renewal invoices work in Expanse Panel.
Subscriptions and renewals
Most active services in Expanse Panel are billed on a recurring schedule. The panel creates invoices before the next billing date so you have time to pay.
Recurring services
For active services such as game servers, VPS, bare metal, and managed databases, Expanse Panel creates recurring invoices for the next service period.
The standard billing lifecycle creates invoices about 14 days before the due date.
Domain renewals
Domains are handled differently from monthly services.
For domains registered or transferred through Expanse:
- Renewal invoices are created only when auto-renew is enabled.
- The invoice is created around the renewal window, roughly two weeks before renewal.
- Paying the invoice allows Expanse Panel to attempt the registrar renewal.
If auto-renew is off, you may need to renew manually from the domain details page.
Auto-pay invoices
Enable Auto pay invoices in Billing → Balance & Top-up if you want due invoices charged automatically when your balance is not enough.
Auto-pay requires a valid saved card through Stripe.
Balance first
If you keep enough team balance, you can pay invoices with balance. Balance is also useful if you want simple prepaid billing.
Due soon view
The Billing Overview tab shows invoices due soon, including invoices due within the next 14 days and invoices already overdue.
What happens when renewal is not paid
If an invoice is not paid by its due date:
- It becomes overdue.
- A late fee may be added after the grace period.
- Services may be suspended if the invoice remains overdue.
Domains can also be affected by registrar expiry rules, so domain renewal invoices should be handled quickly.
