How referral credit and payouts work

A plain-language look at when referral activity turns into balance you can track or withdraw, and what status labels in the product mean.

How referral credit and payouts work

Referral earnings are separate from the account credit you add to pay invoices (see Account credit for the customer side). The product shows earnings, available balance, withdrawal history, and status so you can see what is real money vs pending vs paid out—this article explains the ideas behind those words; your screen is the source of the exact numbers.

Typical life of a referred order

  1. Someone uses your link and lands on a valid order flow. The panel (and cookies, where we use them) need to know the visit came from your code so we can attribute the order.
  2. The order is paid and not reversed in a way that cancels the commission. This can take a short time to confirm.
  3. Commission appears in your referral area, sometimes as pending first, then as earned or available when the business rules are satisfied.
  4. Payout — when the balance is high enough and you use the official withdrawal path in the product, the money moves to the method you chose (or we contact you in rare edge cases, depending on the program).

Chargebacks, refunds, and abuse can claw back or void a referral. That is not personal; it is how every honest program works.

Words you may see (general meanings)

LabelGeneral meaning (not a promise)
PendingWe are not yet sure the order will stay final.
AvailableEligible to be part of a payout or transfer per policy.
PaidA withdrawal was processed; check your bank or method for the actual arrival.
ReversedA previously counted amount is taken back, often with a reason in the system you can quote in support.

Minimum payout and fees

  • Minimum payout exists so the payment processor is not used for a thousand tiny transfers. The exact minimum is in the product.
  • Fees (bank, currency conversion) may be outside Expanse’s list price for the product; they are still your cost on the payout path when applicable.

Taxes

  • Earnings may be income for your country. We are not your accountant. Keep records from the Export or report the panel offers, if any, and ask a professional.
  • A W-9, VAT ID, or other business info might be required before a large payout, depending on region.

If something is wrong

  • Compare dates to Invoices and payments for the customer side; referral timing is different from the customer invoice clock.
  • Open a support ticket with one referral or order ID, not a wall of private customer email addresses.
