Getting started

What is a team?

How teams work in Expanse Panel: one shared space for services, billing, and members, and how that differs from your personal sign-in.

What is a team?

A team in Expanse Panel is a shared space for your organization. Services (game servers, VPS, domain orders, and so on), invoices, and balance are owned by the team, not by a single person’s name on the account.

You still sign in with your own user. The team is the bucket where everything is grouped for billing and permissions.

Why teams exist

  • Clarity — you see one set of services for “My community server” and another for “My personal projects” if you use two teams.
  • Control — the owner can invite others, set roles, and decide who can pay invoices or only use servers.
  • Safety — when someone leaves, you remove their membership instead of passing passwords around.

Who can do what

Not everyone on a team can do everything. Common patterns:

  • Owner — full control, including who can access billing in many setups.
  • Admin — can manage a lot of day-to-day work; restrictions still apply to the most sensitive actions in some products.
  • Member — can work with allowed resources but may not see or change billing.
  • Biller — in many setups, can handle invoices and payment methods but may not manage all infrastructure.

The exact list is in Team roles. If a button is missing, your role is the first thing to check.

When you are alone on a team

Solo is fine. You are still a “team” in the system so that the same product works when you add a friend or colleague later. You do not have to add anyone to keep using the panel.
